And this makes sense when you consider the fact that chewing helps in the development of speech skills and eating habit. 

In the meantime, while you plan to consult your doctor, you could keep feeding your baby whatever safe baby food that is within your reach but in moderate proportions. That can be topped up with a baby jar plus a cup of full-fat milk. These are safe and healthy alternatives, which are quite better than sending your little one to bed hungry.
